DDB Worldwide Wins Global Agency of the Year by Adweek Magazine Second Year in a Row
11 Jan, 2005
DDB Worldwide has been recognized as 2004 Global Agency of the Year by Adweek magazine. This is the second year in a row that DDB Worldwide has received this prestigious honor from Adweek. The recognition comes on the heels of the Gunn Report honoring DDB Worldwide as the most awarded agency network in the world. The Gunn Report is a yearly compilation, tabulation and analysis of the winners in the top creative shows around the globe.
In choosing DDB, Adweek wrote, "The evidence points to one conclusion, DDB repeated its performance last year and earned the Global Agency of the Year award again. The global network added more than $1 billion in billings for the third straight year in a row, but this time it did so without the benefit of a single huge win like Philips, rather adding a bunch of midsize pieces of business and scores of local accounts billing $20 million or less. 2004 was a year when four-year worldwide CEO Ken Kaess saw management moves he had made in the past 18 months pay off in key but challenged offices like Berlin, London and New York."
Ken Kaess commented, "This is the second year in a row that DDB has received this important recognition from Adweek magazine and I thank the entire DDB network for this tremendous honor from Adweek."
Last year marked the first time that DDB Worldwide received Global Agency of the Year from Adweek and the second time that DDB Worldwide was selected Global Agency Network of the Year by Advertising Age. In 1998, the first year Advertising Age gave out the award, DDB Worldwide was named Global Agency Network of the Year for 1997.
“This is a fabulous honor especially since we won this award in January last year as well. To win such a prestigious award two years in a row is a fantastic achievement. It proves that we are consistently achieving positive results for the brands we serve”, said Rudiger Reinecke, Managing Director of Far East DDB, who is a part of DDB Worldwide.
Far East DDB saw a highly successful 2004 which has been recognized not only in Thailand and Asia but worldwide. They won big at the TACT (Top Advertising Contest of Thailand Awards) awards. Far East DDB also won prestigious awards in the Asia Pacific Advertising Festival (Ad Fest), Media Advertising Awards, Clio Awards, Cannes Lions, New York Festivals, London International Advertising Awards and BAD Awards.
